n our continued efforts to bring the most advanced technology available to our patients, we were one of the first offices in the Sacramento area to offer the Optomap Retinal Examination. Traditional methods to examine your eyes only allowed us to examine the central 20 to 30 degrees of your retina in an undilated eye. With the Optomap, we are able to expand that range to 200 degrees into the periphery of the eye where many eye conditions can start. When reviewing your Optomap retinal image, we look for various retinal problems including macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal holes and detatchments, as well as systemic diseases such as diabetes, stroke and high blood pressure. Many of these conditions, while they present with little or no symptoms, can lead to serious health problems and a loss of vision. The Optomap is quick and easy and best of all, it requires no dilation drops!

Optomap Benefits:

  • An eye wellness scan.
  • An in depth view of the retinal layers.
  • The ability to review your Optomap retinal image with your doctor during your exam.
  • An annual, permanent record for your medical file, which gives your doctor comparisons for tracking and diagnosing potential eye disease.
  • Is fast easy, and comfortable.
